What is Freemasonry?

Freemasonry has existed for over three centuries. Originally, and for a very long time, it was exclusively reserved for men. Since 1893, Freemasonry has been a dynamic endeavor that includes women alongside men.

Freemasonry welcomes anyone regardless of social, ethnic, philosophical, or religious differences; it brings together individuals from diverse social and cultural backgrounds and serves as a space where both men and women meet on equal terms.

As a meeting place for individuals who, due to their backgrounds, social status, age, and level of education, may never have had the opportunity to cross paths, Freemasonry stimulates and elevates the intellect; it serves as a path to the discovery of what is fundamental.

Freemasonry represents a personal quest for self-discovery and autonomy; contrary to preconceived notions, it is not an occult organization: the true secrets arise from the self-liberation undertaken by each of its members and are buried within their inner selves.

The aim of Freemasonry is the improvement of its members and, through them, the progress of humanity.

Who are the Freemasons?

Free men and women from different backgrounds

Freemasonry aspires to be a miniature representation of society. It brings together individuals from all walks of life, men and women of all ages, who enjoy the freedom to think and express themselves openly with diverse opinions. Consequently, it is this broad diversity that constitutes the primary wealth of Freemasonry because the more members have different perspectives, the more enriching the discussions become, and the values of tolerance and fraternity gain increased significance.
